TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE

Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements for

Partial Closure of Sai Lau Kok Road, Tsuen Wan

Notice is hereby given that to facilitate footbridge construction works at Sai Lau Kok Road, the following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented between 1.00 a.m. and 5.00 a.m. on 22 August 2000 and 11 and 12 September 2000.

I. Road Closure

Sai Lau Kok Road section between Mei Wan Street and Tai Ho Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic.

II. Traffic Diversions

(i) Motorists on Mei Wan Street heading for Sai Lau Kok Road will be diverted to travel via Castle Peak Road and Tai Ho Road; and

(ii) Motorists on Sai Lau Kok Road heading for Mei Wan Street will be diverted to travel via Tai Ho Road and Castle Peak Road.

III. Public Transport Arrangements

(i) Bus Service

Long Win bus route no. N31 (Tsuen Wan (Discovery Park) - Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)) on its journeys to Airport will be diverted to travel via Mei Wan Street, Tsuen King Circuit, Castle Peak Road, Sai Lau Kok Road and Tai Ho Road before resuming normal routeing.

At the same time, the bus stop on Sai Lau Kok Road outside Tsuen Wan MTR Station will be suspended and re-provided on Castle Peak Road outside Tsuen Kam Centre.

(ii) Green Minibus Service

N.T. GMB route no. 95M (Tsuen Wan Centre - Tsuen Wan MTR Station) on its journeys to Tsuen Wan MTR Station will be diverted to travel via Tai Ho Road. At the same time, the en-route stop for the above GMB service on Sai Lau Kok Road outside Tsuen Wan MTR Station will be temporarily suspended.

Drivers are advised to drive with utmost care and patience. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected and police will be on hand to guide motorists.
